It’s no secret that I am pretty self-conscious. I’ve had trouble taking care of myself for years, so when I do, it brings a lot of guilt that I’m eating or drinking myself sick. However, I have realized that if I take care of myself, I will take care of everyone else.
So self-awareness is the key. I have a lot of people I work with who don’t even know what self-awareness is. They think they are self-aware, but they are not.
self-awareness has been around for a long time. Self-awareness is about being aware of your own thoughts, feelings, and actions. When we realize that we are self-aware, we can take a look at our lives and be aware of what we are doing (or not doing). Self-awareness is not only about finding out what really is going on, but about actually changing behavior and being better than you were before.
Self-awareness is a concept that has been around for centuries. In ancient times, people were called “sages” or “learners” because they had to study a lot of information in order to be able to understand everything that went on around them. Because they had to study so much, they were given the name of “self-aware.” But, as you might know by now from reading this book, we now know that self-awareness can involve a lot of different things.
Self-awareness can mean that you’re aware of what your brain does when it thinks, feels, or acts. It can also mean that you are aware of what your thoughts are and how those thoughts are translated into actions. This is true for all of us. In fact, it’s so important that we talk about it in this book.
Self-awareness is actually the single most important concept we need to understand to understand more about the world around us. You can think of it as the ability to think, feel, and act as if you know everything there is to know about the world around you. In other words, self-awareness allows you to know exactly what you are doing but also to be aware of what you are doing.
In order to be aware, you must first think and feel as if you are the only one who can do it. You are responsible for your actions, but you are not responsible for the results. A self-aware person can take responsibility for the results of their actions.
It’s easy to get distracted in our busy world. We can lose track of time, forget where we are, do things that we shouldn’t, and have a million reasons to stay in the moment. It’s harder to truly self-assess, and our distractions can get in the way of self-awareness. If we allow ourselves to forget about those distractions, then we may be blind to what we really need to do.
The problem is that the distractions are everywhere and we let them. The internet and phones have made us all dependent upon them. Even in a place like a coffee shop, where we are able to sit down and have a cup of coffee without having to take out our phone, we must rely on the phone to get us out of the door.
We must also be aware of the distractions. We must be aware of the people in our lives that interfere with our ability to assess our priorities. And it needs to be a conscious decision. If we let ourselves forget about them, they will take over, so it’s best to make a conscious plan to get back on track. The problem is that we are so used to the distractions that we don’t have any control in this area.
